Though this episode felt a little bit draggy, I wouldn't say I didn't enjoy it. The showdown between Sun and Lee Sun was lit. It did feel like it kept going on and on and I just couldn't wait for Ga-eun to find that dang placenta jar already, yet it was also so satisying to finally see Sun slap the truth right in front of Lee Sun's smug face. I still don't get (nor believe) how someone can ever be immune to poison, but since the king is now rightfully back to his place because of that bit, I guess it didn't really matter.
But I have to admit, my most favorite part of the episode wasn't that showdown but Gon's display of loyalty. I love how, from originally being an assassin for Dae-mok's family, he has turned into someone really helpful for Sun. I love his devotion and how he willingly carries on Hwa-gun's dying wish of protecting the king. And I love that in the end, even though Hwa-gun is no longer alive to look after Sun, her love for him continues to protect him in various forms.
Here's to hoping Sun would be able to protect his people and be really deserving of the title "King" in the end. I don't really care how he and Ga-eun would eventually end; a completely wrapped story for our masked ruler is enough for me.
