On JC and Fangirling

Our TV is sort of broken at the moment (and when it is not, it's most of the time turned at various channels... and when it is not not, I usually arrive knocked out from work) so I can't relate that much with all the hype there is about The Legal Wife. But when I saw a trailer of it somewhere after I got off from work...

Oh my sheeeeemay.

There's JC de Vera! The same JC de Vera of Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita and LaLola, the JC de Vera from my college fantasies!

Oh my sheeeeemay (breathes for composure).

I know I've said this already, but let me just say it again: I am one of those very few people who seldom loves Filipino actors or actresses. I liked a bunch bunch bunch, sure, but I seldom follow a specific person especially if it is someone already mainstream. Like mentioned, I'm the type of fan who deviates from the norm and likes someone whom everybody else doesn't much like (popularity wise) and by the time my fandom rises to fame and becomes mainstream like everybody else, I usually get off of its ship and look for someone else worthy of attention who isn't as mainstream (yet) as others are. Ha. I'm weird like that. JC de Vera is an exception though, an exception whom I've been following (although not religiously) for half a decade now.

My fangirling started after I saw him play Derek/Rod opposite Yasmien Kurdi in GMA's then primetime drama Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita. It was the most memorable acting of him for me, not because it was the first drama that made me a fan of him, but because of an amazing performance that topped every other show he's made. I remember closely following the drama everyday, going as far as watching it at a friend's house so as not to miss an episode (ha, did that with shaman king too—just not at a friend's house but an egg store. lol).

I sure couldn't get enough of him with just that as I followed LaLola closely too, despite busy schedules and mountain loads of work what with graduation getting near. I even watched Ang Utol Kong Hoodlum a few years after despite not being able to follow it closely and understand a single thing (well, since I wasn't following it closely, and I was working at night then).

And now, with The Legal Wife going on and another afternoon soap he's in at ABS, I'd get to have another dose of JC de Vera hotness just like the old times. Yay!

But, yeah. Our TV needs to get fixed first before I can completely go aboard that ship. Or... maybe not. I can just go do a marathon right. about. now.
