In all fairness to the show, hats off to Song Jae Jung for pulling off such a fun, exhilarating and intriguing story. However, I feel like there was still a lot of questions that were left unanswered even as W ended. It felt like the mechanics of the show never got explained thoroughly, and that the ending felt quite empty it paled in comparison as to how mindblowing the first episodes were. It wasn't that bad as we have our happy ending, but I seriously thought it felt kind of forced- like I was being forced to suck up on a happy ending because that's what is being served. Not that I do not like a happy ending. I do, but... 😒
Also, what was that regarding Yeon Joo's Dad's sacrifice? Are you telling me to just accept that he disappeared from the real world and that Kang Chul's a real human being now? How did Chul even got out of the manhwa to begin with? I don't know, but how a real human being disappeared like that so as to give way for a happy ending with someone who was just a webtoon character got me all confused. But then again... dad's already too wretched for redemption I'm not sure how he could've gotten out of all this mess either, so, boo.
Honestly speaking, I did love W though for bringing a lot of interesting things up its sleeve. It just probably got a little bit ahead of itself what with all those tropes and plot twists, thus lost its charm in the end. Either that, or my expectations of the show were just too high.
