It was a fun day with the Grade V kids who did photojournalism today!
It was sort of a "challenging" place for the contest and the theme proper (I think), but overall the experience was awesome. It was fun to see kids play and be all happy after the shoot, and the smile that graced each of their faces as they roamed around the zoo were indeed priceless. We've seen the ever famous Malik, a 40-year old elephant of Sri Lankan decent, and one of the main attractions of the zoo.
Though it was fun and amazing to see an elephant like him walk around the zoo, I think he felt a bit sad knowing he's all alone... and it seems he's not as comfortable at the place he's currently in.
On a lighter note though, it was not just the kids who had fun time after the contest, because it was also a chance for us teachers to take a little bit of time-off from all the hustle-bustle at the school—a time-off away from stress, paperwork, and yeah... stress.
A fun-filled day indeed.
Edit 02/28/15: Yay!!!
The Division Grade V Mini-Press Conference for this year has officially come to a close, and it's a great thing to note that in one way or another, the kids managed to do well and even brought home awards for their hard work. It's also funny how, after the announcement of the first ever winner for our school was made, everyone was like "Yes! Yes! May grade na tayo! May grade na tayo!" instead of congratulating their classmate. Haha. Way to go kids! =)
Jhon Venedick Garay: 7th Place, Science Writing
Kayleen Mara Celso: 8th Place, Photojournalism
Sebastian Iñigo Diaz: 8th Place, Kartuning
To everyone else who joined, you may not have had awards as the others did, but for me, you are all a winner. For overcoming your fear and working it through this all, you are all a winner. Congratulations!
